Investing in Capability: Our New 50 Tonne Komatsu PC490 Excavator

On 12th August 2022, Suttle Projects proudly welcomed the latest addition to our fleet, a 50 tonne Komatsu PC490 excavator. This powerful machine represents a significant investment in our capability and underlines our commitment to delivering piling and ground engineering projects safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

Ready for Major Infrastructure from Day One

Within just one week of delivery, our new Komatsu PC490 was deployed on its first project at HS2, one of the UK’s most ambitious infrastructure programmes. Since then, it has played a key role in numerous high-profile projects, including a challenging 9-day blockade at Telham Embankment, where reliability and performance were critical.

Why This Matters to Our Clients

For our clients; whether local authorities, developers, or infrastructure partners, having access to modern, heavy-duty plant brings clear benefits:

  • Increased efficiency – reduced downtime and faster delivery of works.
  • Enhanced capability – ideal for demanding environments such as rail and highway projects.
  • Sustainability and safety – modern equipment meets the latest standards, reducing environmental impact and ensuring safe operation.

Building for the Future

At Suttle Projects, we continually invest in the right equipment to support complex piling and infrastructure works across the UK. The addition of the Komatsu PC490 allows us to tackle even the most demanding ground engineering challenges with confidence.
