Ground Engineering simplified
Doing the detailed analysis and design work ahead of time allows Suttle Piling to stick to the quoted cost. We take responsibility for project and commercial risks including precise material quantities.
Capability
Large worksites are never homogenous. Superficial surveys only provide a very limited view. By building a detailed picture of the site below ground through geotechnical surveys we avoid a multitude of unexpected problems – ones that could throw your project plan off-course from the very start.
Our designers consider multiple factors including ground conditions and stability, ground water, potential obstructions, contamination and access constraints. From this we carry out detailed design work and select the most appropriate piling method and specification. Final designs aim to simplify follow-on operations and future maintenance.
Flexibility
An extensive fleet of our own excavators and piling rigs ensures we always deploy the most appropriate and effective piling technique, considering both initial project costs and the entire asset lifecycle. Depending on precise project requirements and constraints the solution could be rotary bored, CFA, sheet or driven piles.
Suttle Piling teams frequently work on hard-to-access sites with challenging ground conditions and in environmentally sensitive locations. We also specialise in emergency response to landslips and embankment failures.
Collaboration
Through early contractor involvement with asset owners, operators and Tier 1 contractors we improve efficiency and mitigate project risks. In-house design expertise also ensures that any unforeseeable issues are resolved quickly with minimum impact on your project.
Working alongside our sister companies, Suttle Projects and Suttle Stone Quarries we offer efficient, joined-up solutions to a wide range of project needs.
Reliability
Suttle Piling takes on greater responsibility for project risks because we ensure they are known, quantifiable and mitigated through better technical design and project planning. We start with detailed geotechnical data to ensure solutions are practical, cost-effective, and take full account of underground obstructions.
Because we own an extensive range of excavating and piling equipment, solutions are always driven by the needs of the project rather than the equipment available. On-rig data collection enables our teams to exercise precise quality control during piling operations for a highly reliable finished product.
Our well-developed project planning framework includes clear protocols for information sharing, collaboration and rapid decision making. So there are no surprises and complete clarity over budgets and schedules at all times.
Sustainability
Suttle Piling takes active steps to minimise our environmental impact through habitat protection, restorative planting, and enhancing biodiversity in the sites where we work. We are experienced in working within SSSI impact zones while minimising disruption and environmental risks.
We are committed to reducing our carbon footprint by switching to electric vehicles and renewable energy. Leaving a positive legacy is a key part of our company ethos. We have a long history of engaging with communities and education providers to deliver social value.
Here's what it means in practice
